KurumaWorks ("KurumaWorks," "we," "us," or "our") operates kurumaworks.com and related services (collectively, the "Service"), an online marketplace connecting vehicle owners with mechanics and repair shops. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.

Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, information generated by using the Service, and information from third parties you choose to connect (like Google, Facebook, or Apple).

• Account information: name, email address, phone number, and profile photo.
• Vehicle information: make, model, year, color, and license plate, if you add a vehicle to your account.
• Location information: a shop's business address, and, for customers, your zip code or device location (with your permission) so we can show nearby mechanics.
• Appointments and messages: service requests, appointment details, and messages you exchange with a shop through the Service.
• Shop and business information: for mechanics, your shop name, address, services offered, pricing, hours, team members, and photos.
• Payment information: if you subscribe to a paid plan or make a payment, our payment processor (Stripe) collects your billing details directly. We do not store your full card number.
• Usage and device information: how you interact with the Service, browser type, and similar technical data, collected automatically.

Signing In with Google, Facebook, or Apple

You can create a KurumaWorks account or log in using Google, Facebook, or Apple. When you do, we receive basic profile information from that provider - typically your name, email address, and profile photo - which we use to create and secure your KurumaWorks account. We do not post to these accounts or access anything beyond the basic profile information you authorize. Authentication itself is handled by our identity provider, Auth0.

How We Use Information

• To create and maintain your account and let you use the Service.
• To connect customers with shops, and to schedule, manage, and communicate about appointments.
• To process payments and manage subscriptions.
• To send transactional emails, such as appointment confirmations, messages, and account notifications (you can adjust some of these in your notification settings).
• To respond to support requests and communicate with you about the Service.
• To maintain the security of the Service and prevent fraud or abuse.
• To improve and develop the Service.

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these circumstances:

• With the other party to an appointment. Booking an appointment shares relevant details (like your name and vehicle) with the shop you're booking, and vice versa.
• Service providers. We use trusted third parties to operate the Service, including Auth0 (authentication), Stripe (payments), Amazon Web Services (hosting, storage, and email delivery), and Google Maps (location and geocoding). These providers only receive the information needed to perform their function.
• Legal reasons. If required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of KurumaWorks, our users, or others.
• Business transfers. If KurumaWorks is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Data Retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information, except where we're required to retain it (for example, financial records for tax purposes) or where it forms part of another user's records, such as an appointment history a shop needs to keep.

Your Choices

• You can review and update your account information at any time from your account settings.
• You can adjust which notification emails you receive from your notification preferences.
• You can delete your account from Settings; mechanic accounts with an active subscription should cancel billing first.
• You can contact us at any time with a question or request about your information.

Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
